Why a virtual gift registry?

Times have changed...  Once apon a time couples didn't usually live together before they got married and wedding gifts assisted them to set up their home.  These days many people have either lived as a couple or independently and they have most of the household items that have traditionally been given as wedding presents.  Just what we want is a virtual Honeymoon Gift Register offering a flexible way of gift giving ensuring your guests are purchasing memorable and useful gifts.  Gift Registers avoid those unwanted and sometimes duplicated gifts (saves on those awkward moments for both of you!) and also provide an alternative to the sometimes perceived impersonal nature of a cash gift. 

Even though it's web based, it's still a really personalised service.  Guests can, and do call and speak to us about gift choice, delivery etc.  You can be sure that your guests are not dealing with a faceless service.

Tell me more....  Dream the perfect gifts.....   It's easy, you work out your basic honeymoon plan or luxury gift items and provides us with a list of these items or we'll give you some pointers to get you started.  We'll list these items on the web under your personalised gift registry and your guests will then have the opportunity to either purchase or contribute to these gifts.  Don't worry we know not everyone is a fan of the web so if you have some guests who don't have access to the web (or like it) we can post, fax it or email it to them.

When your guests purchase one of your items, they'll be sent verification of payment via an invoice and a receipt detailing their gift.  They will also be emailed/or mailed a gift certificate (depending on their requirements) to give to you on the day.  The details recorded on this gift certificate are flexible in that the item and/or amount spent can either be documented or omitted depending on the guest specifications.

When you set up your gift registry you can specify when you would like the gift registry to be closed, ie prior to the wedding, wedding day or after the wedding.  Guests will be notified of the closure date on the web site. Upon closure of the gift registry you will be presented with a list detailing the items purchased.  The total gift amount (minus service fee*) will be deposited into an account nominated by you.

Please note that whilst payments can be made via direct debit or credit card, we urge guests where possible to pay via direct debit to save you from unecessary credit card fees and charges. Please note that where credit fees are incurred these will be deducted along with the service fee.  We aimto keep the service fee to a minimum and therefore do not factor in these costs to reduce unecessary overall charges.
